Welcome to The Medicine Tap! Coffee house, Cook house, Bar and Beer house ... an entirely new concept that’s yours to enjoy!

We are situated in Rochdale's former Old Post Office, a beautiful Grade II listed building which originally opened in 1927. The building stands in the heart of Rochdale Town Centre against the backdrop of the Town Hall, and adjacent to the beautiful sunken gardens and Cenotaph designed by Sir Edwin Lutyens. Following a full refurbishment and complete change of use, this stunning venue re-opened in 2018 and has retained all of its original character and charm. With a nod to this iconic building's rich history, our aim is to offer a unique and inviting place to relax in whilst enjoying superb food and drink. You can sample an ale or two, grab a bite to eat and create great memories.

From coffees to breakfast bites, from afternoon tea to evening dining, and from beer hall to cocktail bar, we’re building a reputation for heart-warming food and drink. With quality-sourced continental food, fine crafted ales and an extensive menu to suit all palates and preferences, we endeavour to create that perfect ‘going out’ experience that will keeps you coming back time after time.
